After a million and a half questions from my friend Mindy, who had never been camping before, we set off to Arizona the long way, stopping through Crawford State Park, Gooseneck State Park, the Grand Canyon, and eventually to Flagstaff.
Morning walk the first day at Crawford.
Telluride and Southern Colorado is so breathtaking, this is one of my favorite shots of all time.
We stopped at 4 corners, of course!
The drive through Monument Valley, reminds me what it is that I love about the desert.
Gooseneck State Park, one of my favorite places.
We suffered through a windy, rainy night, with occasional lightening, but were rewarded with a great view when we awoke.
The Arizona desert looks like what Mars must look like.
We headed in to Grand Canyon NP, where it was considerably more chilly, but astonishingly green this time of year.
A brief hike around the rim in the morning.
The contrast between the greenery and the red canyon walls was very beautiful.
Another one of my favorite shots of all time.
At last, we got into Flagstaff for some family time.
